Not ready for a kitten but don't want to miss out when the right one comes along? Our new waiting list is a win - win for all. You lose nothing and gain the most precious future family member when YOU are ready!
Here is how it works!
Our waiting list is new and I think it is something that is going to grow quickly, so get on board before the list gets long! First, you must be 100% certain that you want to purchase a Maine Coon kitten. You also need to know that you want a kitten from Royal Majesty Main Coon Cattery. Last, you have to be sure that when you say you are ready, you are ready to take on the responsibility of owning a new kitten, taking on vet bills, food bills, and the over all care of day in and day out life with a new fur kid for many years to come. If you are prepared, then this might be for you! If you are not sure, please note, this deposit is non refundable.
$100 deposit is good for a full year
We require a $100 deposit (payable by check, cash, or electronically) that is non refundable but has an expiration date set from one year of the date we received it.
You will be added to our contact list for each litter that is born. You get to pick your kitten in the order that your deposit was received. I notify everyone on the list when moms are due, in labor, and details on newborns once they are safely here. Once I know the litter is all doing well and we have no worries of any struggles or faders, I will then begin to notify each person on the list and sending out pictures, videos, and setting up facetime or video chat times to introduce you to the kittens. Please understand that kittens are not like puppies. They take longer to thrive. I have had to hold off on this process for several weeks just to be sure everyone is gaining weight and doing well. So I do ask that everyone be patient as I monitor kittens the first few weeks. I still keep everyone updated and no one gets to jump ahead in line on the list so if you are first, you get first pick! After I give you the green light to choose your kitten, this does not mean you have to. You may opt out of this opportunity and we will skip to the next person in line. You do not lose your place on the waiting list. The only stipulation is, you must choose a kitten before two years have passed since you paid your waiting list deposit. If you do not and the two years expire, you are removed from the list (no refund).
Once we get to your name on the list, you are given 24 hours (negotiable due to scheduling and circumstances) to discuss with your family once you see all of the kittens to choose from. Remember, if you choose to pass on the litter, your deposit is still good for two years from the date we received it. Not every breeding or litter is successful so we try to be fair to give you a chance to wait for your favorite colors and patterns to be born from your choice of our Maine Coon breedings. We will require the following information from you to write a contact: name, mailing address, cell phone number, email address, gender preference, color, coat pattern preference, polydactyl or non polydactyl. We will post a price range in our contract that will be locked in so you do not have to worry about a price change you would be unaware of in the future.
$500 deposit to reserve
After you choose your kitten, we require a $500 deposit to reserve that kitten until it is ready to go home. Your $100 waiting list deposit applies to the reservation deposit so you will have to pay the difference of $400 immediately. Kitten prices are not always set right away. Once this $500 deposit is received, it is non transferable and non refundable with one exception. That exception is because we cannot always guarantee that the kitten will be 1000% healthy and thrive. If for any reason a kitten has a health concern or our vet finds a problem, we will be very transparent and relay this info to you right away. We then give you the option of transferring this deposit onto another kitten, keeping the kitten, or a full refund will be issued by us to you.
Kittens can go home after 10 weeks of age minimum
Kittens typically are scheduled for their fist vet visit at 9 - 10 weeks of age but closer to 10 weeks as they are a slow growing breed. We have seen where a lot of breeders do not let their kittens go until a much older age for various reasons. We do not do ESN (early spay and neuter) because from my studies, research, and observation, we have found enough proof for us to not allow this. My vets are against ESN in this breed as well. The two huge factors that stop us from early altering is #1 it can suppress the animals appetite for life which is horrible in my opinion #2 this can stunt the growth and in a massively large breed of cat, no one wants that. For these reasons, I will not do ESN. I do not recommend altering your Maine Coon cat until it is a minimum of 6 months old but prefer it to be closer to 9 months if possible. This must be a discussion you have with your trusted veterinarian.
Our kittens are well socialized and ready to take on being part of a family by the time they are 9 weeks of age. They are also completely litter box trained. If something is holding them back, we do not let them go yet. If their new families can give them the same life or better than I can, I find no reason to keep them here any longer. They can go home and bond with their families. My mother cats are usually happy to see them leave as they are weaned and still try to snatch a drink of milk that annoys moms! lol
Our vets give them their first set of shots, do a PCR fecal on the litter, write health certificates and release the kittens to go to their new homes.
Kittens must be paid for in full before leaving us. If you pick up your kitten in person, we take cash or an electronic form of payment (Cash App, Apple Pay, Venmo, PayPal, Zelle) for the balance owed. No checks of any kind are accepted for payment in full when picking up your kitten. If you are unable to pick up in person, we require payment in full before the kitten leaves with a ground transporter or flight nanny. This payment MUST be in full a minimum of 48 hours prior to the pet leaving our home. Too many times I have had people wait until the last minute on payments and it causes stress and interruptions in schedules. This eliminates these issues completely.
How to know you can buy from us safely
We are very transparent and do not mind showing you our cats! We have met in person with our cats to introduce ourselves and done FaceTime with customers to help you feel more secure. I'll admit, it is a pain in the rear sometimes to go the extra mile but hey...I totally understand the world we live in today! I have been scammed and so have many others who have reached out to us! I don't want anyone feeling any fear as they attempt to work with us.
My vets office is a great place to start when it comes to checking out my legitamacy! I use Tender Care Animal Hospital in Peoria IL. Dr Larson is the owner and usually the one you see in pictures making funny faces, posing with litters of kittens! Dr Whittington has been amazing and always there for me when I am worried and need help with any animal related issues. Dr Seagal is newer at the office but in no way new to the practice! She worked for many years for the state of IL and is one of the wisest vets I have met. As Dr Larsons wife has told me....she is so smart and reads all the time. She researches before every visit coming in I'm told! I love my vets. Dr Grant is no longer working at Tender Care but is with Tri County emergency hospital and love her as well. She was one of my favorite vets when she worked at Tender Care and now know where to go in emergencies! I have lived all over the United States, moved oodles of times, met and worked with many veterinarians. I am blessed to know and work with the ones I have today! Call them and ask them if they see my animals! They might say "which one" with a laugh. I raise English Angora show rabbits with my youngest daughter, these Maine Coon cats with my oldest daughters and grandkids, and I have raised Toy Poodles since the late 90's. So we have a zoo and use our vet for all of them! I do no vetting myself.
The next best way to check out a reputation is to contact previous buyers, past customers! We have lots of people who wouldn't mind telling their experience with working with us. If you don't want to take the time to reach out to anyone, the simplest way to do this is to follow our FaceBook page. You will find lots of our past customers on there commenting! I always post pictures and videos they send to me and they usually comment on them as well. This is a way you can be discrete and not put a lot of effort into the process. Like I have said many times, I am very transparent. I welcome all of our customers to continue to keep in touch and share stories!
Another way to know I am legit is by my license. We live next to some very unhappy/unfriendly people and I say this because most complainers are miserable and have nothing better to do with their time (I actually feel sorry for them). With this being said, the county has told me that we are not allowed to have any business conducted at our home. This was because of a complaint from the only neighbor we have. We have a shared driveway but live on an almost 5 acre farm. The neighbor doesn't like traffic lol. So this leads me to the County of Peoria. We have been inspected by Animal Control and the Planning and Zoning committee knows us well! They passed our "special use" permit so I can legally run a business, but not at our home. We now have a larger farm nearby that we use for all breeding so we are following all the rules to be legal. The County employees who I have worked with will also tell you I am legit and have been easy to work with. They may not know my day in and day out business practices but they know I am a legitimate breeder. They know much more than I think probably as they are the ones that have passed on all the info that the neighbors learn as they stalk us lol.
I am state licensed through the State of Illinois USDA for my toy poodle business and my inspector looks at my cats every time he is here. However, I did not apply for a license from them for my cats. The reason for this is because I do not meet the requirement for the need according to the state. A cat breeder must have a state license if they own 6 or more breeding females. I do not own 6 females at all. So we are not required to obtain this license. However, because I am licensed for the dogs, they come for inspections and if there are any other animals present, they are to be inspected and kept in according to the laws as well. I do think there will come a time (soon) that I will get one more female Maine Coon cat and then I will apply for this license as well. My state inspector is very kind and I'm sure he wouldn't mind a phone call to verify we are legit as well.
